I've Not Been Monkeying Around

I haven't posted pictures of new hats for a long time.. Its not because I've been lazy. I have still been making hats. I was just waiting for my ears to heal. My ears are now at a 1/2 inch. I was waiting for them to look normal again.. No one wants to see swollen earlobes right?

It might have been an easier process if I decided to buy the correct supplies.. but you know me.
I don't like to buy things that I could make.

I decided to go from a 00 to a 1/2 inch one day. I headed to the hardware store, I'm sure I was quite the sight. Small girl in a spring dress inquiring about saws, sandpaper, wood and stains. Everyone had questions. They also had strange looks when I told them I was making a taper and some gauges for my ears.

I just refuse to pay money for something I could make.

It was trial and error. Lots of blister on my fingers and bleeding ears.

But,
I saved money.
So I don't feel bad.

I made myself 17 pairs of wooden plugs. Now I have some for every occasion! Oh how I love variety.
(The cookies and roses came from here.)

I finally was able to photograph some new hats and headbands. Finally.
I'm totally aware that you can barely even see my ears.. yet I still waited two weeks.

Isn't the monkey hat just the silliest thing you've ever seen? I love silly!

Check them out!

Lost And Found

This painting took forever. I started it right before the move, and finished it about a week ago.
It's titled Lost and Found. This lost little bird found a forever friend. Sometimes I think it's perfectly okay to like the company of animals over humans. This will be available in the shop soon as well as prints. (Still working on that)
And then I have added a collection of brooches and headbands to the shop. Maybe it's not a collection but more of a cluster, or maybe a troupe, might as well make that an army of new brooches and headbands. Okay I added 8 new things.

This Must Be Part 2

It's time to take off our shoes,
Time to enjoy the sun,
Forget about the thorns...
Through the woods we shall run.
I know you think I'm silly,
You always tell me so,
It's just that I'm a dreamer...
And I want you to follow.
 I wandered on ahead,
 And left you far behind,
You know I didn't mean to...

Six new headbands added to the shop.

Holy Headbands! Part 1

Today's weather: 78°F
Sunny and Perfect
14 new headbands have been waiting to be photographed.
We were only able to photograph 8.

The world was very crowded today.
People were everywhere!
My favorite photo spots were covered with people...
I'm so lucky to have a forest in my backyard.
Tomorrow's weather: 78°F
Sunny and Perfect
Again.
Good thing too... we have 6 more headbands to photograph!

These 8 headbands are in the shop.
I have completely redone my headbands, check em out!

Reunited

Today was a good day.

Mr. Sun came out to visit. He gave me 75 degree weather, and told me I should wear a dress.

Little blossoms greeted me as I came back from the post office. They told me spring was on it's way and I could put away winter coats.

The day was full of projects and ideas. Those are the best kind of days. Really

But the sun began to set. My camera had still not arrived! I got really stressed. I wanted to get pictures of the beautiful tree that is popping with flowers and I wanted pictures of my three newest creations.

I started pacing and saying mean things about FedEx. Then the doorbell ring. I ran to the door. I almost gave the delivery man a hug. Almost. He asked me, "You've been waiting for this?" I asked, "How did you know?" "I could tell by the way you opened the door." He replied.

I had about 20 minutes left of good light so I rushed for pictures. I hate rushing. It makes me cranky

We were able to photograph two new feather headbands and one pair of wristies
This is me combining two creations into one photograph. Plus a very odd look on my face.
I've been feeling rather odd lately so it suits me.

I then rushed to my flowering tree
I promised my mother I would get pictures of the blossoms, so she could tell me if it is a Joshua Tree.
Is it?
I was able to get a picture of Mr. Sun.. he was trying to sleep
and I didn't want to bother him.
I also retook pictures of  my paintings

I'm very glad my camera friend came back today. I was getting lonely.

The two new headbands, two new paintings and the pair of wrist warmers are all available in the shop.

Phew... What a day!
