Another Move..

We didn't get a lot of sleep last night. 

Yesterday we found out that we are moving to Memphis. It might be only for a week, it could be longer. 

This move was quite unexpected, but we had no choice so we agreed to move.

We just had one problem...

We have a lot of stuff.

I don't know how it happened, we were able to fit everything into our car from North Carolina and get it to Arkansas. We've only been in Arkansas for 3 months but we can't get everything into our car. So after a 4:30 am Walmart trip we had it figured out. We're going to strap stuff to the roof of our car. 

Sweet.

We got to bed around 5 am. 

Then the calls started to come in.. 

We were needed in Memphis Friday morning. Sooner than we thought.

We tried going back to sleep after that. Just as we started to doze off another call would come in, or a text, or a voicemail. Finally just around 10 am when we were about to fall asleep another call came in.

The call we were waiting for.

Taylor got his promotion. A job he had been hoping to get all summer. 

We were beyond excited.

There was no going to sleep after that. 

 We tried.

As I tried falling back asleep I thought to myself how awesome my husband is. 

His hard work allows me to stay home and run Talk2thetrees. 

I get to play all day while he works.

His work also allows us to travel and go on adventures.

He had been working hard for 2 years now and now has the job he wanted. 

I am so proud of him and so very thankful. 

I felt like telling him all of this so I rolled over to check to see if he was sleeping. 

He wasn't. 

He was too excited.

I gave him a big hug and told him how much I appreciate him.

And today we will be packing up all of stuff, cramming it into (and on top of) our little carolla and moving to Memphis.  

All on only a few hours of sleep.

I love the way life changes sometimes...

New Style

I took a few days off from painting to make some new hats. 

I must say I am quite pleased with the new style.

The yarn is pliable so you can have the point pointing down, or curled up.

I think I will be making these in many different colors.

I just love slouchy beanies and pixie hats. It feels good to have my favorites combined into one.

As much as I would like pixie hats to be worn by boys.. I don't think it will happen often.
I'm trying to make more unisex hats.. and I'm quite excited about this one.

This is Taylor, modeling the new Dino Hat.
He wasn't able to do any dinosaur faces when I was photographing him...
I just think he was being camera shy or something.
So we switched places and I showed him how a pro dinosaur looks.

He just asked if I was trying to be a sexy dinosaur.
So maybe the two of us can't model..
Good thing we have Mowgli.

He almost looks like a real panda huh?

Is that a monkey!? Oh.. no just a chihuahua in a monkey hat.

This style isn't really new.. but the color is. It's a beautiful gold color with red flecks.

Yesterday was not the best day for pictures.
It rained all day like a monsoon.
As soon the rain let up it was 99 degrees and humid.
Just look at my hair!

This Must Be Part 2

It's time to take off our shoes,

Time to enjoy the sun,

Forget about the thorns...

Through the woods we shall run.

 I wandered on ahead,

Date Night Do's and Don'ts

According to me.

Do occasionally surprise with flowers. 

 Do tell your date they look nice. (even if they look like a little boy.)

Don't be afraid to try new restaurants...Yummy falafel and hummus pita! 

Don't feel silly if you want to color on the tables at Macaroni Grill...

that's what they are there for.

 Do go exploring in the woods.. you never know where an old cemetery sits.

Do act silly and take lots of silly pictures.

Don't be afraid to ask strangers to take your pictures.

(I'm afraid someone will run off with my camera!)

 Don't always think you have to eat out at a fancy place.

Don't spend all night on the phone. (He's not the only guilty one.)

Do make friends with the employees of cold stone.

Do be yourself and wear silly hats and scarves if you so choose.
