Two Of A Kind

It's been a very long time since I've added anything new to my knitwear shop. I've been trying to make sales a bit slower, while still keeping them, and I feel like I've done a pretty good job.
I love knitting and crocheting, but I don't want it to take over my life.
I was getting so many orders, and so many mean customers, I almost decided to close up shop for good! I was so stressed out, I didn't even like knitting! But instead of just quitting, I put together some tactics to slow sales, and make it fun again.
Since my sales have slowed down, I've been able to focus more on my art shop, and knit more for fun, rather than for "work."
I've been doing a few knitting projects with beautiful high quality wool.
I've knit up 3 beautiful circle scarves, and I decided I couldn't "not" share with others..
So, I decided to make one more of each scarf. One for me, and one for someone else in the world who wants to be two of a kind with me.
This scarf is made with a silk blend wool roving, in brown mustard and yellow.
It's very soft, and warm.
The roving has different thinness and thickness, so it has a lot of variety in it.
The stitch used makes it curl ever so slightly on the ends.
It's "two of a kind" and no one else in the world will have it, but us!
This scarf is made from Icelandic Wool. It's brown, grey and black. It's very thick and warm.
This scarf is a bit scratchy due to the wool, but not scratchy enough to cause any discomfort when worn around the neck.
This scarf will never be remade!
Oh my, this scarf is a dream.
It's my favorite color of yellow, and it's so soft.
The yarn is made from a wool silk blend, so it's very warm, but also soft.
It's knit with a lace stitch so it's very beautiful and elegant looking.
Depending on how well this one does, I may be able to make 2 more of these.

Spoke To Soon

I spoke much too soon about my hopes for Spring.
We woke up with snow this morning!
So, I took the doggies out..
it's about time to introduce Wicket to some snow.
I wasn't sure how he would react, since his favorite thing is snuggling up to the heater.

The boys had a lot of fun, and Wicket is now snuggling up next to me
while I get ready to knit some hats.
Speaking of knitting, do you like my scarf?
I'll be adding one just like it to the shop.
It will be a two of a kind scarf!
One for me, and one for the shop.
Fun.

Well Utah, I'm sorry for cursing us.
I should have knocked on wood.

A Little Late

I'm a little late here... but I am bringing back leg warmers and wrist warmers into the shop. I know it's the end of May, and not many people would want to wear wrist warmers, leg warmers or even hats. (Unless you are in Utah like me and it has been cold and rainy for the last 3 weeks.)
BUT these have been in my pile of things to be photographed and I finally got around to it. I'm sure there are still people out there in need of warmth. I know I am one.

Brad is acting as my new photographer.. and I am quite impressed. Although, he makes me blush while he takes the pictures.. he tells me nice things and compliments me while he is snapping away.

So, throughout the day I will be adding new things to the shop. Four hats, one headband, one scarf, one pair of leg warmers, and one pair of wrist warmers.. but like all of my items, these are made to order, and can be made in any color!

Puff Stitch Hat in Mustard Yellow. (My favorite color!)
Hand Knit Leg Warmers
Puff Stitch Hat in Cream
Decorative Bandanna/Scarf in Teal
The Raggamuffin Cap in brown
Raggamuffin Cap, and Raggamuffin Wrist Warmers
Bow Style Headband/Ear Warmer in Teal
Leg Warmers and Mustard Yellow Puff Stitch Hat

Keep your eyes open for them by this evening!

Keeping Busy, Part 1

I have been keeping myself very busy. I don't like to stay in the house all day... so I've been busy playing with friends, and making new things for the shop! I have just added some new hats, and 3 new necklaces to the shop. These items are going to be one of a kind and I won't make them again once they are sold... So they are first come first serve, you snooze you loose sort of a thing.. but let me honest, I might be able to be bribed.. I mean, come on.
(Insert smiley face)

I'm in a bit of a weird mood. I was up late last night, and I worked all day today, filling orders, putting together new necklaces, taking photos, editing photos, cleaning the house and then listing.
It's been a crazy busy day. But it needed to happen.

p.s. The two olive green hats are different from each other. One is a bit larger in the back.

These can all be found here!

It's been a really long time since I have added anything to any of my shops.. I forgot how good it felt. It feels real good. Tomorrow I hope to post even more! But for now.. this tired girl must sleep.

p.s.
My little brother was writing a paper for school and wanted to know what to do to make it long enough. I told him to change his font to Courier New. Suddenly his paper was about 2 pages longer.
Sister of the year award? Yes please.

New Style

I took a few days off from painting to make some new hats.
I must say I am quite pleased with the new style.

The yarn is pliable so you can have the point pointing down, or curled up.
I think I will be making these in many different colors.
I just love slouchy beanies and pixie hats. It feels good to have my favorites combined into one.
As much as I would like pixie hats to be worn by boys.. I don't think it will happen often.
I'm trying to make more unisex hats.. and I'm quite excited about this one.
This is Taylor, modeling the new Dino Hat.
He wasn't able to do any dinosaur faces when I was photographing him...
I just think he was being camera shy or something.
So we switched places and I showed him how a pro dinosaur looks.
He just asked if I was trying to be a sexy dinosaur.
So maybe the two of us can't model..
Good thing we have Mowgli.
He almost looks like a real panda huh?
Is that a monkey!? Oh.. no just a chihuahua in a monkey hat.
This style isn't really new.. but the color is. It's a beautiful gold color with red flecks.

Yesterday was not the best day for pictures.
It rained all day like a monsoon.
As soon the rain let up it was 99 degrees and humid.
Just look at my hair!
