The Raven And The Wolf - A Valentine's Post
Happy Valentine's Day!
I figured I would do a cute post about love, but that's about all I've been doing lately!
So, I figured I would share the "Our Story" page that I have on my menu bar.
The wolf and the raven have a complex but beautiful relationship that is many thousands of years old.
Wolves and ravens have long been connected in folklore and fact.
The Nordic God Odin is often represented sitting on his throne, surrounded by wolves and ravens.
Studies show the raven guiding the wolf to prey, and the wolf leaves ample food for the raven. The two animals form bonds and relationships.
They play together, hunt together and even tease each other.
One of my spirit animals is the Wolf, and Sterling's is the Raven.
Like the wolf, we center our ceremonies around the moon,

and each time we include our stone totem animals as a representation of our relationship.
Our relationship is similar to to that of the Raven and the Wolf.
There is guiding, giving, taking, playing and teasing.
Both wanting the other to survive, live and thrive.
We suspect in a past life we really did play the roles of the raven and the wolf together.
We suspect our past lives have coincided together for eternities.
There is familiarity when we look into each other's eyes.
Sterling and I met through his sister who is also an artist. He and I met online, and then in person the next day while he was in town. We recognized each other the moment we made eye contact. We each meant to stay and chat for about 15-20 minutes, but our conversation carried on for over 2 hours. It was more than chatting, we spoke of dreams, astral travel, traveling the world, divorce, heartache and happiness. He went back to LA and I stayed in the town we met. We wrote letters and shared late night conversations over the phone for months. We got to know each other over miles and miles of distance which created a strong and powerful connection.
We got to know each other through words and feelings.
This went on for months and the connection grew.
Then one night in the winter snow, just before Christmas we were reunited.
I ran to him and jumped on him knocking his hat into the snow.
I know for a fact, that we shared the most epic kiss in the history of kisses that night.

Sterling and I are choosing a non conventional Valentine's Day this year.
We decided no fancy dinners, no flowers, chocolates or roses.
We've both had pretty bad Valentine's experiences, so we are choosing a different way of celebrating.
We are going on a little trip!
We are packing up the car, clothes, art supplies and Mister Wicket,
and heading to Sedona Arizona today to explore some energy vortexes, nature and outdoor goodness.

Love and Kisses
Valentines Day is one of my favorites.
Well, it hasn't always been, but now it is.
I wanted to share with you one of the things I did for Brad this year.
I love handmade gifts.
Some don't..
But, I do.
So, every year I plan on making something for Brad.
Last year I sewed him a cute fabric notebook page
and embroidered a sweet little love note on it.
Then stuffed it into an old vintage bottle with some sand.
This is what I did this year.
Last night, I hid these hearts everywhere.
Today, I will give him an empty jar that says "How much I love you"
And tell him to keep an eye out..
(I purposefully hid a few where he would find before he got the jar.. to confuse him)
The joke is, he will never be able to find all of these.
They will keep appearing even in a year or so.
And I'll keep making some and hiding them.
I thought myself a very clever girl.
But little did I know, he had a surprise of his own.
I'm a pretty lucky girl.
I also took the opportunity to paint my nails for the holiday.
I didn't realize I painted the hearts with crackle paint...
So, I've got broken hearts on my fingers.
And of course, you can't have a Valentines Day without kisses.
Happy Valentines Day and lots of kisses from me.

♥ B E M I N E ♥
This Valentine's Day is the first Valentine's Day that Taylor and I have gotten to celebrate alone.
Last year our house was always packed with Taylor's friends, their friend's and the neighborhood kids. All day and all night, our house was always occupied. It's partially due to the fact that we had a 50 inch TV screen and a lot of video games.
Lets just say last Valentine's Day was not a good one. Sitting on the floor of my own house waiting around for video games to be over so that I could go out to dinner isn't a happy memory at all.
Valentine's Day is very special to me. It's the day Taylor proposed to me, and I like to celebrate that.
Taylor learned from last years disaster.

This Valentine's Day was much better.
"Just tea for two,
And two for tea,
Just me for you,
And you for me."
And two for tea,
Just me for you,
And you for me."
Taylor promised me a couple of months ago he would have a tea party with me.
This is probably my favorite skirt ever.
Taylor complimented it over and over.
I bought it from Priscilla Dawn
Please check out her shop.
She makes the cutest doll like dresses!!
After tea time Taylor took me on a surprise trip to a nearby lake.
Taylor redeemed himself.
Later we went out to a movie and to dinner,
where Taylor learned the hard way about the importance of reservations.
I forgive him, he is still pretty new to this.
Now I'm sitting on the couch.
There is a meeting going on 2000 miles away,
About where we will move to next.
Mowgli is wagging his tail in his sleep.
I'm waiting for a very exciting phone call.
I'll keep you posted.
Of course I went all out.
I even bought a new skirt for the occasion. This is probably my favorite skirt ever.

Just a little Retail Therapy
I have many collections. Tea sets, acorns, polished rocks, buttons, incense burners and vintage scarves to name a few. My most impressive collection? Shoes and Clothes. I've had the same "random-I'll-wear-just-about-anything-style" since my sophomore year of high school and I haven't grown since then. I hardly ever throw out clothing. I figure I can always alter then later. So this collection is quite massive and takes up more than 2 closets.
I've lived without this collection for almost a year now.
Last March Captain Alaska got a new job, we were to move to California for 4 months. We didn't have much space, so I was only able to bring about 1/4 of this collection.
4 month later Taylor was given the opportunity to work in North Carolina. We had even less space. I had to leave almost all of my clothes! I'll go ahead and embarrass myself, I cried a bit.
I've was only able to bring 2 pairs of shoes! 2!
This morning I woke up to a blanket of fresh snow and a huge box full of new clothes waiting at my doorstop.
Purchased just for me. From me. To make me feel better. I will figure out how to get them to our new home.. don't you worry.
New shirt, new jeans, 2 new pairs of shoes, 2 new hats and a new dress, all for me.
Here is just one outfit.
You'll see the rest in time, I'm sure.
You'll see the rest in time, I'm sure.
Uh-Oh, where is my wallet?
Laughing about the above picture.
I can't think of an appropriate caption.
I asked Captain Alaska to take me to the store so I could buy eggs.
(I hate driving, especially when there is snow around)
He did.
I asked him to wait in the car to keep it warm for me.
He didn't.
He followed me around. Which wasn't part of my plan.
I was trying to buy him some Valentine goodies.
I tried to send him on various quests..
He wouldn't go.
I finally said to him,
"Look, I'm trying to surprise you for Valentines. Beat it."
He laughed because he knew the whole time.
We laughed really hard and he gave me a kiss and we picked out candy together.
Can't wait for tomorrow.
