Valentines Day is one of my favorites.
Well, it hasn't always been, but now it is.
I wanted to share with you one of the things I did for Brad this year.
I love handmade gifts.
Some don't..
But, I do.
So, every year I plan on making something for Brad.
Last year I sewed him a cute fabric notebook page
and embroidered a sweet little love note on it.
Then stuffed it into an old vintage bottle with some sand.
This is what I did this year.
Last night, I hid these hearts everywhere.
Today, I will give him an empty jar that says "How much I love you"
And tell him to keep an eye out..
(I purposefully hid a few where he would find before he got the jar.. to confuse him)
The joke is, he will never be able to find all of these.
They will keep appearing even in a year or so.
And I'll keep making some and hiding them.
I thought myself a very clever girl.
But little did I know, he had a surprise of his own.
I'm a pretty lucky girl.
I also took the opportunity to paint my nails for the holiday.
I didn't realize I painted the hearts with crackle paint...
So, I've got broken hearts on my fingers.
And of course, you can't have a Valentines Day without kisses.
Happy Valentines Day and lots of kisses from me.

Thanks!! You totally should do it! It's way cheap and easy!
Deletewhat a great idea this is! hiding little handmade hearts all over your home, then having your bf find them. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have some tucked into his shirt pockets that he won't find until next summer!! Muahaha
DeleteHis gift to you looks yum and bon idee on your part! This year I have zero money so I made a card out of some cardstock I had lying around, cutting hearts out of a red coloured page in a magazine and cutting a little white section out of printer paper for the message...and I made chocolate. Gifts can can in all shapes and sizes and hand made gifts just make it that much more special!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! The heart and jar gift only cost me a dollar! I had all the fabric laying around. :) Your card sounds beautiful! Also, you MADE chocolate? That is impressive.
DeleteI love making my own gifts! And getting gifts that are home made, they're much more personal and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Brad's gift made me remember that I have some Pop Rocks in my cupboard. Where they came from I don't know but I am eating them right now (do you actually eat pop rocks? ... not really) Please thank him for reminding me about them. :)
