Giveaway With The Vagabond Studio! Enter to win Customizable Bracelets!

I didn't end up listing those paintings like I said I would.
We all knew I wouldn't.. It's not like I was even busy.
In fact, I slept all stinking day yesterday!
Seriously I did. I woke up at 2 pm, then went back to sleep from 3:30-5.
It was nuts. I was just so tired. And feeling awfully sluggish.
Then, sleeping all day yesterday caused me to not be able to fall asleep last night.
I was trying to fall asleep from 2-4 am last night.

I did however wake up and do yoga today.
Then I remembered how the first day back at if after 6 months was killer on my back.
So I'm sitting with a heating pad feeling a tiny bit defeated...
But, at least I tried.
And I'll try again until I stretch all the pain out of this back.
But  for now, this heating pad feels pretty good.

So, today I'm going to try to get those paintings listed,
orders shipped, and maybe even make a nice dinner for Sterling and me.

Those are my goals at least. I even have them written down.. so they might actually happen.
It's not like I'm forgetful and completely scatter brained.. I just have a lot going on.
Kind of like too many internet tabs being open at once.
But enough about all this, cause it's Monday and my favorite part about Monday's are giveaways!

Today's giveaway is from The Vagabond Studio.

Remember last week's outfit post? And my beautiful quote bracelets?

A bit about Shai from The Vagabond Studio

In the deepest crevices of my being, I am a creator. Not *the* creator, or anyone snazzy and ultra-special like that, but the kind of creator who finds painted desert sands in used coffee grains and spends afternoons with fingers and facial features smeared in charcoal and graphite. I inscribe words onto pages and blog posts with a complicated mix of tears and cheer. I create laughter. At my day job, I help create peace. I've even been lucky enough to create a handful of hilariously quirky children.

My name is Shai Smith, and I am a creator.

I am also a 28 year old mom (of 2 + 2 step-kiddos), a full-time student, a blogger, a social media coordinator, a wife, and an activist. And, as of the past few months, I've finally come to love the fact that I'm from Georgia.

Fun fact? Every single time I've typed studio I have accidentally spelled it stuido.
I'm not even kidding... I need a nap!

Get to know Shawna from Scrawny Girl!

Take TWO! Sorry guys.. There was something fishy going on with the HTML in my last post. Ughhh such computer problems lately!!

Hey guys! Today's post is to get to know Shawna from Scrawny Girl a bit better.
Shawna is on the blog this week giving away an adorable doll.  It's been a lot of fun working with her, and getting to know her. Read through her interview, see what fuels her desire to create and take a peek into her life!

Please give us a brief bio, where are you from, who you are and how you started in this field?

Hi! My name is Shawna and I live in dusty Lubbock, Texas with my bass playing husband, darling daughter Amelia, and troublesome pup Loki. I love coffee, dying my hair, reading manga, thrifting, Dolly Parton, collecting/listening to vinyl, and anything cute!
I started out making dolls a few years ago as Christmas gifts for my nieces (I have 6). At the time I was jobless, so I decided to make everyone's gifts from things we had around the house. Being a craft supply hoarder, I had plenty of vintage fabric to make dolls. I didn't know much about sewing, and just watched a few YouTube videos.

Here are the 1st two dolls I ever made.

When did you first discover your creative talents?

I think I was born this way, and it's just the way I think. As a girl I remember turning the field behind our house into a maze, and our playhouse into Laura Ingalls Wilder's home. I was always drawing, especially Lisa Frank inspired pieces and unicorns. I'm that person who always wants to try new things, whether it's being in a punk band, teaching myself to knit, or dying my hair blue.

What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep yourself motivated?
A passion to create keeps me going, it's ingrained into me and not creating makes me depresso-girl. I also enjoy making my life cute, bright, and fun; and letting it spill over into other people lives.

Making goals keeps me motivated, even if I don't ever complete them. It is more about the journey/process for me. Although, a cup of coffee and a cupcake never hurt.

How would you describe your style?

My personal style could probably be described as cat lady chic, who might be in a 90's alternative band. I wear lots of flannel, band tees, vintage pearl snaps, big glasses, tights with holes in them, leopard print, hats, and Converse.

My artistic style is very cutesy/Kawaii. I am heavily influenced by Japanese anime and music (mostly Kyary Pamyu Pamyu). I like to keep my illustrations simple, clean, and cartoonish; that you can also see in my dolls.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Quirky, cute, geeky, fearless, creative

Share with us something funny that has happened to you recently.

I spend most of my days just laughing at my daughter, she has the funniest personality and makes the funniest faces!

Anything else you would like to add? Favorite quote? Words of advice?

My favorite quote is from a poem by Robert Frost: "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep..." If I ever got a tattoo it would be the words 'miles to go'.

Giveaway With Knittynudo!

We've got a real adorable giveaway planned for today..
It's super cute, fun and colorful..

And now a bit about the creator...

Little sculptures from an unknown world

where anything and everything exists alongside us.

Soft sculpture is my way of visualising a curious world. They are the characters hiding under the tree roots, between the petals of a flower, under the floorboards, or lost down the rabbit hole.

I have grown up in the beautiful north of England, surrounded by cultural cities, dense woodlands, rolling mountains, serene lakes, and a roaring sea tide. I've spent my childhood playing out myths and magic in old castles and monasteries , and my adulthood visualising tales of modern day folklore and mythology.

Knittynudo is all about capturing something about the world, a certain peculiarity or oddness. Little characters with a story. I try to show that even in challenging times the world is still beautiful and full of colour, as long as we still use our imagination. Magic can be found everywhere, and through Knittynudo this quirkiness is interpreted in the form of soft sculptures, needle felted from 100% natural, renewable, and biodegradable materials. Knittynudo is eco art, interpreting the world in all its whimsy and curiosity.

But what you could win is the pair of Flump Creatures.
Are they not the most adorable things?
Guys, I'm so impressed with all these little creatures.
I have tried needle felting.. and it resulted in frustration and bleeding fingers.
These little guys take a lot of love, patience and talent.
They are all done on such a small scale, that getting the little details takes extreme talent.

I'm using rafflecopter again for this giveaway.
Details are in the rafflecopter widget!
