In The Studio

I come from a very talented family.
My father is a gold smith and jewelry designer, my mother is a teacher, but growing up she always did crafts and projects. My older sister knits and crochets the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'm an artist and illustrator, my little sister is a photographer, and my little brother is a musician!
I realized this a few days ago, when my little sister Sarah came over to photograph me in my studio!

I can sometimes take photos with a tripod and remote, but it's just so tricky to get the lighting and timing right, so I am very thankful she came over to get some photos for me.
I think they turned out great.
She's got some really creative ideas and talent!

I'll be in the studio painting.

Hopefully getting stuff ready to be posted online.
As soon as my shop is back and all.

Perfect Fall Day

The early part of today was spent at the coffee shop with familiar faces,
playing with leaves and shopping for art supplies.
I took down most of the Halloween decorations.
The skulls and bones stay up. Always.

And the rest of the day will be spent in my studio.
Painting, watching some Doctor Who and watching the leaves fall from my big window.

Happy day.

Doing What I Do

I thought it would be fun to have some photos of me "Doing What I Do."
I think self portraits are very important..
especially when you are doing something you do.
Being your true self.

I like to think this is what the canvas sees.

I have been busy lately.
And I stay busy on purpose.
I work 3 jobs currently.
I teach art, work at a flower shop, and run my shops and blog.
Sometimes I get so stressed and tired, but I have to remind myself...
I chose this, and it's for the best.
All of this stress is temporary,
and I'm in control of it.
I'm in control.
I chose 3 jobs to get myself out of debt faster.
I chose 3 jobs to finish paying all the bills.
I chose this.
So, the only person I could be mad at is me...
and I trust myself to know,
that hard work pays off.

My Weekend In Pictures

Dyed my hair more pink, since it was fading pretty fast.
Spent time in the studio painting.
Walked into the living room to see poor Wicket stuck in the couch.. where he fell asleep.
Drank the most delicious iced coffee. It tastes a bit like roasted marshmallows.
More photos of new work.
Playing with my silly puppy boy.
