To Hold The Moon

I am very proud of myself. I have checked off everything on that list.. minus giving Mowgli a bath. He is still as stinky as ever. Maybe next time? I think so!

Okay so I've been busy. I have three new hats to list as soon as the shop opens back up. I can't wait to reopen it. I have missed it. Does that sound silly? I know I could have opened it anytime I want.. I just needed a short break.

Today I focused my time on photos. Taking them, being in them, editing them and posting them. Boy that gets old. But it needs to get done, right?

Here are a few things just added to Tree Talker. I've been working on these for a little while and I think they turned out beautifully! They just didn't photograph very well.

I may retry later.. perhaps the same day I can give that dog of mine a bath. (Wink wink)

See? Sadly the pictures didn't turn out like I wanted them too..

I also finished this over the weekend.
To Hold The Moon
A sleepy girl holds the moon as her hair turns into the night sky..

I did this painting last Saturday during the full moon. It's watercolor/pastel and colored pencil. I love the moon. I always look forward to the full moon. Each time I see it I want to hold onto it forever. I'm definitely a night person. I stay up very late into the night. It's not that I hate the day, or the sun. From from it! I just don't like seeing the sun before noon. The sun doesn't like to see me before noon either. Since it's mutual I don't see it being a big deal.

What a wonderful short break.
Though it wasn't much of a "break," because I can't just sit there not making something.
I must always be busy making something, or I get a little restless.

I'm sure you know how it is..
Here's to the rest of the week being just as productive!

Love

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms,
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers.
Thanks to your love a certain fragrance,
risen darkly from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride,
so I love you because I know no other way than this:
where "I" does not exist, nor "you,"
So close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
So close that your eyes close and I fall asleep.

Flora And Fauna

"By definition, flora is a word of Latin origin referring to Flora, the goddess of flowers. Flora can refer to a group of plants, a disquisition of a group of plants, as well as to bacteria. Flora is the root of the word floral, which means pertaining to flowers.  "

"Fauna can refer to the animal life or classification of animals of a certain region, time period, or environment. Fauna is also of Latin origin. In Roman Mythology Fauna was the sister of Faunus, a good spirit of the forest and plains."

Prints available in the shop.

Ugghhh

This post probably won't make a whole lot of sense. I've recently caught a cold or something.
My head feels cloudy, and my hands feel weak, so words are not coming out right..
Which is probably why my post title just says "Ugghhh."
That is all my brain is able to say to me, other than "Take a naappp."

So pictures make a little more sense right now.

I just wanted to post few new things that have been added to the shop.

A hat made from a blend of acrylic and wool roving.
This is my very favorite color of green.
A little mermaid/ water nymph.
I'm really jealous of her blue hair.
And finally a little red head with her fox pal.
I've always wanted to snuggle up with a fluffy fox.

It's Okay To Match

I've been having a lot of fun with my pastels and colored pencils lately. They used to be all I used until I started college where the focus was on painting. In most of my classes the final assignment had to be done in paint.  I think I'm a lot happier with the results now that I'm back to what I am used to.

It's good to be true to yourself.

I made this one special for the Halloween season. A dark pixie and her companion raven.
She wears a black pixie hat to match her raven and her black hair.
I got a little jealous of her hat, so I made myself one!

Prints and hats available here.

Oh, and check this out! I am included in a huge ten winner giveaway!
