Excursions, Taste Tests, and Success

Last weekend Brad and I went on a little adventure.
I was recommended to visit some places by a friend on twitter.
 So, I did just that.

The first week in a new apartment, there are always things you need.
A new broom, tables, shelves, chairs... all sorts of things.

I had been on the hunt for the perfect chair for my shop.
Then I learned, chairs are expensive.
So, we added thrift stores onto our agenda.

Our Adventure Included:
World Market
Dancing Cranes, where I got the Devi Chai, just like I was told to. And it was gooood!
A huge record store for Brad
Deseret Industries, (The thrift store of Utah)
Ikea

Please meet :
The Money Tree (Regina) that now resides in my studio.
My lucky birds that hang by the window. They will help ward off evil spirits.
Our $20.00 ikea coffee table.
For feet and drinks.. of course.
My new purse!
I've been needing a bigger one for so long!
More prayer flags for the front porch.
Mismatched plates.. one of my favorite things!
My new organic cotton coat, that was 50% off!
I carried it around with me debating if I truly wanted it.
Turns out it changed my life to a point I couldn't say goodbye.
The new chair for my studio!
only $20 from the thrift store..
It was old, faded and a bit worn,
but thanks to a king size duvet on clearance at Ikea..
I was able to turn it into this:
Hello beautiful!

Perhaps in another post I will attempt to tell you how I made this.
I nearly gave up at least 3 times.

It's pretty rare to have a real successful day of shopping.
Where you find everything you need, for just the price you want.
And even a few extra things!

Get this, one of my guests left and when I went to clean the room I found out she had filled it with origami cranes (made from maps) hanging from the rafters. I was amazed and figured you would appreciate it too haha

I absolutely love your new coat. It's so adorable! And speaking of adorable...that chair redo is amazing & adorable! I love how you gave it new life & brightened things up a bit. I really hope you share how you did it, because I have an ugly chair that I want to brighten up a bit & have no clue how to start it.
