Realization

It just dawned on me.. like an awakening of sorts.. People will always be disappointed in you. You can't please everyone.. You can give it your all, you can do everything someone asks of you, and more.. but they can still find a reason to be disappointed.
I think I have always known this deep down, but have just come to accept it... because I have tried many times to make someone happy. I tried to be the person they want me to be, and I still fall short. I guess when it comes down to it, it is the other person's fault... Maybe they expect too much, maybe they are selfish.
Maybe I am just a little hurt and I am ranting...

As much as I like to make people happy.. the best thing I can do is do my best, and if all else fails.. at least I know I did my share, and I tried my best. If I still fail to please I will still manage to be happy.

  4. so true, so true!
I have stopped worring about what people think of me. there will always be someone who doesn't like me- for reasons I will never know. and I no longer want to be someone i'm not just to please someone.
If someone doesn't love you for the amazing person that you are- they are missing out!!!

  5. I think it's a good thing to rant about. You basically just described my childhood in a nutshell. I'm always surprised by what happy and fulfilled adult I am. Which makes me even happier! Happy Happy Joy Joy!

  6. I think this is very true. but also, i think that a lot of people will want or expect certain things of you, like friends and family maybe expecting you to be a famous artist one day, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are disappointed with you because you're not one now, and it certainly doesn't mean they'll be disappointed if you never get there either. it's almost like hopeful expectations, but never is there any disappointment involved. ya know?

  7. Here is a quote that one of my friends on face book put up.
Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
