Captain Cadaver

This is the first time that I've been coherent enough to actually write a blog post.
These last 3 days have been a complete fog.
This morning I woke up at my usual time, but couldn't stay awake for longer than 5 minutes.
I would start writing out my to-do list for the day and fall asleep with my phone in my hands.
I finally rolled out of bed around 11:30, which is super late for me.
I like to be up by 9 and working as soon as I stand.

I know I should be focused on resting and healing, but I hate to feel lazy!
So, sleeping in until 11:30 was huge for me.
I got up and slowly started to fold laundry.
My laundry had been piling up for weeks, so that was my ONE goal for today..
which turned into cleaning the room..
which turned into cleaning up the whole house.
And now I sit utterly exhausted but very pleased with myself.

And I actually feel more like myself.
Rather than a zombie.
And now I have someone to introduce you to!

Over the weekend, before I got sick, Sterling and I decided to adopt a little bird.
I've been wanting one for a little while now,
I had birds growing up and loved them.
And when we met his lil guy we new we had was meant to be part of the pack.
He's got a bit of a sassy attitude, but we love his spunk.
We named him Captain Clauneck Cadaver.

Aside from his regular perch we gave him a skeleton hand, and a cow skull to sit on.
He's been pretty freaked out since we brought him home, but has warmed up to us nicely.

Wicket has some getting used to do..
Any time Clauneck speaks out or makes a peep Wicket freaks out.
Clauneck spent some time out on the couch with us, Wicket watched very him very curiously.
They will become friends soon.

  2. Love the color and markings on your cockatiel. I used to raise them. Great birds to have. Birds add so much joy to life.
