Adjusting Sails

I have this incredible desire to follow my heart.
It's like a wind that pushes me to do things.
If something doesn't feel right, I trust my instincts
and I go with what feels right.
I feel like I am blessed with strong instincts.
We all are, but I know when to follow them.

This has been a hard week..
Brad and I broke up.
I won't go into details since it's personal..
But I'm sure people were wondering..
especially those who follow my facebook or twitter.

I'm adjusting.
Because that's what I do.
The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be – Marcel Pagnol.

  4. oh no! You've been through so much. You always pull through with such aplomb (though I'm sure it must not feel like it at the time) - that's what I like about you (besides your art of course).

    1. Thanks so much Ken. :) You are too kind.. I really don't feel like I pull through anything with any aplomb or class. I feel like I stumble through life most of the time.

    1. I think I will. Sometimes it's hard to see what good can come from a terrible situation, and sometimes it takes a while before you can find it, but I'm sure I will find some good, and be stronger. Thanks Georgia. :)

  13. So sorry Rachael! But like the others have also said, you are one tough cookie, you'll pull through :)
I came across your blog a bit more than a year ago. It was around the time when I broke up with my husband-to-be on our wedding day, and decided that Id just let everything go. I stayed home for about a week, which was when I came across your blog. You, your positivity, your art and your way of thinking just got me thinking and get back to my feet.

I know you alreadty know the pain from years back, I know that you will miss Brad, and I also know that you will be ok! You will be fine, just keep on following your instincts, and keep on doing what you do, it will turn out right :) I trusted you a year back, you can trust us -the loving and caring all over the world followers if you wish- on this...

  14. One of the reasons why so few of us ever act, instead of react, is because we are continually stifling our deepest impulses. (Quote by - Henry Miller) ..So I admire you for your ability to follow your instincts and not passively waiting for things to happen .. Thank you for inspiring me, I have been following you for a while now. Un abbraccio, an italian friend x

  17. Hey Rachael, love your blog. You inspire me with your courage. You are going to be OK girlfriend. I love Aretha Franklin and she sings a song called "A. Rose is still a rose", great song, very empowering. No matter what happens you are a "Rose", beautiful and strong. Plus, you have blog friends who love you. Take care of you. Sending you big hug. Ciao. Julia
