New and Newer!

Exciting things are happening.
Well, kind of.. they are exciting to me at least.

The blog now has a new look!
I decided around 1 pm that I wanted a three column blog.
Now, if you know anything about blogger, they have changed some things.
I didn't want to switch my whole template to a new one..
Mostly because I like my header and buttons, and I didn't want to do that all again.
So, I took the tricky route, and sat down and coded the html.

Html is actually fun once you figure it out.
Brad won't believe I just said that,
since he was sitting right by me as I was about to pull my hair out.
But, it's all working now.

I wanted the blog to have less links going so far down the page.
I wanted my sponsors to be more at the top.
I over all wanted a new look.
But not too much!

I opened up a third column..
but it was too crowded.
I don't like the look of a crowded blog.

The area for my posts was way too small.
The side bars were way to big.

So I tweaked it for about an hour.
Trial and error.
My favorite way to learn.

In the end, I had to create new side bar headers, and a few new images.
But, I'm loving the new look.
What do you think?

Guys!! I'm so excited.
I've been meaning to get my website up for a while now, and I finally did it.
I have had the domain for about a year now,
and it was pointing to my Etsy shop the whole time.

I finally buckled down and created my very own website.

I wanted it a bit different than my blog, but also a bit the same.
I still wanted a lot of white space.
I'm a sucker for simplicity.

So, I finally got it up and running!
Have a look, because there is some exciting news on the Shows&News page!
I haven't even told my own mother this news yet.

If you don't feel like looking for yourself, I'm sure I will announce it soon.

  1. The Blog looks perfect! and I Love the website!

  2. I do like how you opened up the center area with content more, I know what you mean about HTML, it can do so much more, but often does leave a person wanting to pull their hair out! Looks really good, nice job Rachael.

  3. Thanks Kim!! I think the hair pulling was worth it. It mostly always is. ;)

  4. The blog looks nice. The website looks good too, and congrats on the spring show. I too have a domain name pointing to my etsy, I am determined to have my own website. Hopefully this winter.

  5. I love the new layout!!! The 3 column solution looks very good!
I love it because it has changed but not that drastically... It's almost the same without being the same...
And I love your site too! The last days I spent a lot of time looking at your domain! Your works are so cute and full of nature and childhood. All that I love!!! :)))

  6. Lovin the new look! Not that I didn't like the old one I'm just sayin that uh I think you know what I mean... :P

  7. I actually like three column layouts better!
You are a braaaaave soul dealing with html.

I don't know, but on my computer, the left side bar is cut off... I just thought I would let you know (it could be my laptop, I use a mini).

Congrats on your own art store!
And the gallery, that would be so much fun.

    <3 Ashlynn.

  8. Lovely new design! I updated mine as well recently and I totally agree - trial and error is my favorite way of learning. And learning HTML puts a big ol' smile on my face... When I'm not cursing under my breath and rocking back and forth in my chair. ;) Just kidding! ...Sorta...

And YAY for your art website! So proud of you!!!

  9. Hi Rachel!

Everything looks awesome around here! You have been busy...Your hard work has paid off. I totally love your header and buttons. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great weekend dear girl. xo
