I just realized...

In a little over two weeks I will be moving. This means I should start packing... I should start cleaning.. I should start going through the things I've acquired in these last 8 months. I should be deciding which stuff is junk, which stuff I should bring and which stuff I want to keep, but probably won't have room for.

When we moved here back in September we barely fit everything into our little Toyota.
Right now I can look around the room and see all the things we've purchased since then..

A gargoyle to guard out mantle,
My newest tea set to make it feel more like home,
Taylor's newest TV screen, so he can play xbox and watch movies at the same time.
The box of yarn to keep me busy,
Our printer,
My books,
Our new shoes,
Our wine glasses, so we can drink Dr. Pepper like fancy people,
My box of buttons,
Mowgli's newest toys.

My button collection has literally doubled since this picture was taken!

I really don't know if this will all fit.

When we first moved here we didn't have room for dishes, how silly of me to buy a whole tea set.

It's not that I have a spending problem. I just like to fill my house.. er.. apartment with things that remind me of home, things that make me feel like I'm not living in a hotel.
Things that make me feel like I belong.

I'm not looking forward to these next few weeks.
I hate packing.
I hate throwing out things.
I hate leaving things behind.

Someday we will move into a big house, where we will stay for years and years and I can fill it with gargoyles and tea sets and buttons and books.

Until then I guess I can always mail my stuff to my new address.

P.S. I changed my blog back... I felt closed in.  I like a lot of space. I feel like I can breath again... phew!

  1. right there with ya dude, i absolutely hate packing and moving and downsizing. good luck haha! we have to move here soon too. it will be so nice one day to have a house :)

  2. Oh it really does suck leaving things behind or throwing them away when you move... I hope at least you get to 'like' Arkansas this time :)
    A big hug!!

  3. Hey!!! I got my headband and I love it!!! Thanks so much!

  4. Buttons!!!! I love buttons, especially the colorful ones :-)
Love the railwaypic & the mist that hangs above it!
    Goodluck with the moving

  5. 'Just keep swimming' - Dory (^_^)

Home is important.. i really hope you get to take it all with you!

All this new blog space is great, lots more room for big, pretty photos :o) love the misty tracks!

    Take care,Chloe x

  6. I know just how you feel, my family was driving me crazy on Sunday about the amount of stuff I had *not* packed or gone through yet...and I need to be completely moved out by the 30th. :( It's amazing how many things we get attached to because they make our spaces feel more like a home.

  7. Good luck on your move and perhaps this will be home and you can stay forever and fill up all the rooms with lots of stuff.

  8. Good luck with packing and cleaning. You will do great when you get back from your trip!

  9. Moving! such a bittersweet thing. Packing is the worst, I think. A gargoyle would always come in handy, you just gave me a brilliant idea.

  10. man I definitely don't envy the whole packing thing and I'm the worst at throwing away, I'm a packrat, I find ways to make it all fit! lol
Good luck though. I know this part isn't fun but I'm sure you guys are going to have an amazing time in your new place with wonderful new memories to fill it with! :)

btw if your shy about doing that thing on my page you can always do it anonymous! but I'd love for you to be a part of it :)

sending lots of love your way and patience(for the packing)! :)

  11. I love your blog! Too cute. :) I talk to trees sometimes hehe.

  12. I totally understand!!!!!
I am a collector too, I collect stuff and never throw them away and my room keep getting smaller and smaller :p

  13. Oh! one more thing :o)

Each and everyone’s home smells different don’t you agree? I think is the mixing of perfumes and mmmmm not sure what but when I go home and have a small sniff I feel like everything in the world if fine hahahaha (silly me) well take care and great blog♥
