Just a little Retail Therapy

I have many collections. Tea sets, acorns, polished rocks, buttons, incense burners and vintage scarves to name a few. My most impressive collection? Shoes and Clothes. I've had the same "random-I'll-wear-just-about-anything-style" since my sophomore year of high school and I haven't grown since then. I hardly ever throw out clothing. I figure I can always alter then later. So this collection is quite massive and takes up more than 2 closets.

I've lived without this collection for almost a year now.

Last March Captain Alaska got a new job, we were to move to California for 4 months. We didn't have much space, so I was only able to bring about 1/4 of this collection.

4 month later Taylor was given the opportunity to work in North Carolina. We had even less space. I had to leave almost all of my clothes!  I'll go ahead and embarrass myself, I cried a bit.

I've was only able to bring 2 pairs of shoes! 2!

This morning I woke up to a blanket of fresh snow and a huge box full of new clothes waiting at my doorstop.
Purchased just for me. From me. To make me feel better. I will figure out how to get them to our new home.. don't you worry.
New shirt, new jeans, 2 new pairs of shoes, 2 new hats and a new dress, all for me.
Here is just one outfit.
You'll see the rest in time, I'm sure.

Uh-Oh, where is my wallet?

Laughing about the above picture.

I can't think of an appropriate caption.

I asked Captain Alaska to take me to the store so I could buy eggs.
(I hate driving, especially when there is snow around)
He did.
I asked him to wait in the car to keep it warm for me.
He didn't.
He followed me around. Which wasn't part of my plan.
I was trying to buy him some Valentine goodies.
I tried to send him on various quests..
He wouldn't go.
I finally said to him,
"Look, I'm trying to surprise you for Valentines. Beat it.
He laughed because he knew the whole time.
We laughed really hard and he gave me a kiss and we picked out candy together.

Can't wait for tomorrow.

  3. I know what it's like to have to leave a lot behind. I also know what it's like to not be sure what's happening next and not being able to settle in 100%, too. I didn't miss my clothes, but I did miss my furniture and I do pine over catalogs on a daily basis. One day, right?

Good luck tomorrow! I'm excited for you to know where you're headed next - I hope there's a walk-in closet involved. ;)
