Time Worthy

This weekend I redid my hair. It's about high time. My roots were about as long as the blonde was! We redid them, and dyed my hair pink, purple and blue. I seriously didn't like it at first. It's slightly growing on me now, but I think next time I'm going to go full pink, or full purple. The pink just feels right, but for now the blue is fun. Bleaching and dying my hair takes so much time. Instead of watching movies or TV shows while the bleach and dye processed we chose to read... such a good idea. I'll get into the book more in a bit.

My weekend was great. Lots of hiking, planting, walking, and even a BBQ. Sterling and I are trying to learn NOT to just live for the weekends, but to make the week days fun too. He works 10 hours a day Monday through Thursday, so he's pretty tired after work, but we are trying to do fun things every day. 

We recently got a book "How to Live on 24 Hours a Day" By Arnold Bennett. This is what I read while Sterling and I did my hair. It was kind of eye opening to read and understand how much of my time I waste.. even sitting on facebook, or scrolling through instagram. A huge part of it is not living for the weekends, but to make all of your time count. Everyone is given the same amount of time, and some people choose to waste it. You can't get it back. It's really stuck with me.

Galaxies Are Coming!

It's going to be a busy weekend. 

Sterling is filming a video for Gopro today. So, the house is a huge mess with lots of lights everywhere, and the same bit of music is going over and over and over again. But, it's okay cause he will probably get famous from this. 

And I spent almost all night and morning working on some galaxy necklaces for the shop! 

These are hand painted on little wood discs, and they have sweet little messages on the back! I'm wearing one today to remind me to shine bright.. and because the colors also happen to match my hair. 

Yes! I'm back to candy colored hair. And I'm a happy girl. 

A very happy girl.

Doing What You Love

Thursday Threads- The Problem With Pink Hair

The problem with pink hair, is that you can't wear much.

 I sat on my bed looking at the closet for something to wear that wouldn't make me look super tacky. My options became limited. 

Red was out of the question. 

So was orange, and yellow. 

Blue would be okay if it was a pale blue... 

Green was a big no. 

So, I stuck with black and gray. 

I think it was a good choice. 

The pink hair didn't have to compete with any other color.

A Bit Of Silliness

A bit of silliness goes a long way..

Yesterday was a pretty sad day for me. 

Yesterday marked the day Mowgli first limped in the house to me.. dragging his back leg. 

One year ago.

We were both scared and confused.

I rushed him to the vet.. 

and both of our lives changed that day. 

Much for the worse.

That day one year ago was very hard for me.

Just like it was yesterday.

Just like it still hurts today. 

 And ouch, this hurts

I got home that day, and decided to take some fun photos.

I did silly faces, and lots of smiles until I was able to cheer myself up a bit.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and I truly believe this.

Torn

Due to a hair dye malfunction, my hair is hot pink. All over.
I'm torn between loving it, and needing to wear sunglasses when I look in the mirror.
I've always wanted pink hair, all over pink hair I mean.. Just like how it is right now.

And suddenly I miss my blonde hair.
But I love the pink so much..

My hair is the same color as my Halloween Wig.

 But, having a day job, even one that's part time a few days a week means I've got to comply to some rules..

So, tomorrow I shall have different hair.

But this pink is fun while it lasts!

The Hair Post

I've gotten many emails about my hair. How I get it to be so pink, who cuts it, who dyes it. What dye I use, what the back looks like, etc. So, here is a quick little post about my hair!

First off, I cut my own hair!
I've cut my own hair since I was 18. I'm pretty good at it.
I cut it about once a month with a regular pair of scissors, then trim it up with a pair of razor scissors.
I started cutting it myself because I didn't have the money to actually go anywhere, and I ended up liking it so much I just cut it myself.
If YOU are a hair dresser, don't make fun of me, cause it probably won't meet your standards of a good hair cut. (Insert winky face)

I also dye my hair myself!
My hair is all over pink, but the front is hot pink, while the rest is a darker pink. The whole dye process takes a while, but it's worth it to me. I love my pink hair, and I'm very lucky I don't have a job that would keep me from doing this.
First I bleach what I want hot pink, in this case the under layer of my bangs. Then I dye everywhere else red. Then after rinsing and drying all that I put in Manic Panic, Hot Hot Pink.  Then I rinse that out, and I've got pink hair!
Beware. This stuff stains your shower, and sink, and floors. Be very careful. It also stains your hands and nails...
I have to repeat this whole process about once a month.

And here is a quick little 360 of the hair.. which is new to me.. I don't think I've ever seen the back of my head since I started cutting it myself!

Remember, if you are going to dye you hair fun colors.. make sure you get it cleared with your work!
And invest in some good shower cleaner, and a towel that matches your hair color.
