Getting Serious

My hat shop has been closed for about 2 weeks, and I'm sorry to say, it will continue to stay closed.
I may do custom hat requests, but for now... the closed shop is adding peace to my life.

While I have had it closed I have been focusing on myself.
My inner self and what I really want.

During a meditation session a few nights ago,
I studied hard on what I want in life.
What I want to do.
All I want to do.

The answer is art.

Ever since I was little it's all I've wanted to do.
I never hesitated when I was asked what I wanted to do for a living.
And in my life right now, I am submerged in art.

I spend 6+ hours a day teaching teenagers art.
I know they can see my passion for it.

A few times a week, I leave school and go to a flower shop where I work on floral arrangements.
My mind gets to work out designs, and shape and color.

I go home to my blog where I edit photos and write words on my blog.
Or I go out and take photos.
Sometimes I sketch a bit in my sketchbooks.

I truly live an artistic life.

Yet, something is missing.
I haven't painted in months!
Since Brad and I broke up to be honest.

So, I sat there meditating, pondering what I wanted and needed to do.
To further live a fulfilling artistic life.

My answer was of course, a non-surprising
PAINT!

So, I did.

I sat down in my new studio and I started to paint.

Newest painting in progress.

So, you are going to see more art orientated posts from me.
And if I don't blog once a week about something artsy, get mad at me!
You all know my email address.
A lot of you are friends with me on facebook...
Bug me if I don't.

You have my permission.

My life is less stressful.
Things here have calmed way down.
And I'm going to be getting serious about this art thing.

And now some news about the art thing!

These last few months, I've had some paintings hung up in Cafe Solstice!
Cafe Solstice is a beautiful cafe located inside Dancing Crane Imports, which is in Salk Lake City Utah.
Go there, see my art and try the Devi Chai, and the Mayan Brownie.

The owner of the cafe asked if I would put up two new paintings tomorrow!
This time with a Halloween theme.
I am so excited and honored to be asked to put more paintings up!

These two paintings are the ones that are hanging up there until tomorrow.
After tomorrow, they will be for sale in my shop again! Yay!

And I'll be hanging this guy up tomorrow,  along with another one I'm working on.

It seems that as soon as I decided to get serious, the universe has been providing me opportunities.
And I'm excited.

In other news, next week for art class...
we are having a lesson on Tim Burton, his art work and movies..
then we are watching Nightmare Before Christmas.
And of course have them color in value scales.
But, I'm bringing candy!

  1. We should all, always, be doing what we love!!! And soul searching is a wonderful way of finding that love.

I've been an artist since I was a little girl, and a larger than life, in the spotlight, type of Leo. For the latter, I blog. For the former, I draw, and sketch, create and dream up awesome ideas. My latest will mix both for an inspirational Tumblr!
