Caught On Film

There is nothing like a film camera.
I love my holga so much.
I love the fun pictures it takes.
The light leaks, the out of focus, the grain, and the unpredictability.
I love not being able to look at a photo after I take it.
I love taking double exposure photos.
I love hoping a photo will turn out when I get the film delevoped.
And I love getting photos developed and finding I have old photos of Mowgli before he passed away.
This is my first film camera, and a lot of these pictures didn't turn out nearly at all.
I was getting used to the settings, and what kind of light to take photos in.
Some of these pictures are extra grainy and dark.
But I still love em.
And check back soon... cause this is kind of hint for next week.

  1. My first film camera is a mustardy-yellow Holga too!
Except yours is a little bit bigger than mine. :)

I love all your pictures! I think the out of focus/grainy/dark is what gives it character.

  6. Love your blog and love the photos...I do not have a desire to use a camera that is a film camera but I envy people who enjoy them. I am just WAY too impatient for that but I love the images you have posted here. The out of focus, grainy and dark you refer to gives them mystery and their very interesting. I would love however a Diane camera...have you worked with one?

    1. I haven't! I've looked into getting one though. I don't normally like film cameras, but I always carry my SLR AND my Holga, so I end up getting some instand digital ones AND some film ones for later!
