Ever since Mowgli passed away I've been finding little feathers.
Every little feather reminds me of him.
When he died I read in a book that finding feathers means your angel is visiting you.
It also helps that every single feather I find, is colored the same as his coat was.
I may be stretching this belief a bit to fit my own personal needs,
but I don't see anything wrong with that.
I find the feathers at the most random times,
and especially when I need to see them most.
The other day,
with all the woes of the car.
I went to the grocery store.
I wanted to buy chocolate, sprite and potato chips.
(my comfort foods)
On my way to the drink section I found a blue grey little feather,
sitting on the floor between the cans of coke and the grape juice.
I gasped and picked it up, very excitedly.
Brad said, "Aww Mowgli knows you need him. He IS always with you."
I hid my tears, (like I'm doing now..)
I was already a wreck from crying all day,
and I'm sure the people from the supermarket already had an eye
on the girl who collected things from the grocery store floor.
So, I put it in my pocket.
Payed for my groceries and left.
Coincidentally, feeling light as a feather.
Your love for your little Mowgli makes me always cry... And I miss my little Lumpi so much every day. Sometimes I think I will never exceed this hurdle...
ReplyDeleteI find a lot of feathers, expecially in the last years... I didn't know the story about the visit of an Angel. I always thought it was a raving of mine! I always thought "You are here with me" I'm so glad to find today that I guessed right :)
A great hug Rachael...
I know how hard it is...
I totally believe that's what those feathers mean. Glad you found one today.
ReplyDeleteAww! Mowgli knew you needed him, and he was there for you. I don't think our loved ones ever really leave us.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I love this.... I never heard that about feathers but I totally think you are right. He just wanted you to know that he thinks of you too. =) So sweet!

Thanks for this. I lost my dog, Eddie, this year and have been so sad. He was my doggie soulmate. I saw a random feather a couple of days ago. It moved in a strange way and scared me at first because I thought it was a big bug. Now when I see feathers I will think of this and feel a happy thought about Eddie. Your posts are inspiring and meaningful to read.
