I was hit with some real bad news on Monday.
Bad enough to keep me home yesterday.
I was called into the administrative office last Monday at my school.
I was told because of licensing issues with various states, and lack of funding
I was being laid off from teaching art.
I covered my mouth at the news.
It was like someone died.
And just hours after I quit at flower shop too.
So, this is going to be a rough time for me.
Just weeks before Christmas too.
So, if you have ever wanted some of my art, now would be a great time..
(Am I hinting?)
Anyways.. My last day teaching is December 21st.
I guess it really is the end of the world that day huh?
I'll be back tomorrow with some good news.
I'm so sorry to hear that. But, as they say, when one door closes, another opens. Try to keep your head up!
ReplyDeleteSometime blessings come with the negative, so let's hope they are coming!

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that Rachael. I am sending you some good vibes.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could revisit the flower shop owner. Explain to them what has happened and ask if you can come back on board.
I am so sorry! That has happened to me at a job once, but luckily I had a back-up job. I believe in you and your talent; you'll be able to bounce back from this. Perhaps with any luck they will be able to invite you back if funding comes through in the near future. My sincerest well wishes!
ReplyDeleteThis breaks my heart to hear this :(
ReplyDeleteBut I'm excited to hear the good news!
Hannah

ReplyDeleteI know how much you loved working with these young people. I'm so sad to hear they let you go.
ReplyDeleteIt's natural to cry and feel hurt, all that stuff. Having said that, I can tell you from experience, that something better is always waiting in the wings for you to go after.
You have that special charisma that gets you where you want to be, so don't count yourself out. You will figure it out. Hugs

ReplyDeleteOh, Rachael!!! You will climb through an open window into the sunshine of possibility if this door really does close. But I know it still hurts. Keep your head up!
ReplyDeleteomigosh that sucks! can you take back your resignation from the flower shop?? did you quit there because it was too much working both? :( so sorry this has happened to you Rachael. Hugs!!
ReplyDeletei'm sorry to hear this... i just stumbled here (on your blog) by accident - and loved your painting of the girl with the huge eyes.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who was given the SAME news as you (7 years ago now) - please know that you'll be ok. I lost my job of 11 years in a matter of minutes. Same reasons as yours. Wanna know something? i'm ok. And you will be too. Your art will show you the way. :-) xox
