The Trees Offer Hope

Last weekend I took a lot of time "off" and painted. 

I stayed in my painting clothes all day, and got paint all over myself.

I was a happy girl.

I focused mostly on painting trees.
My favorite thing to paint.

I painted a forest full of aspens.

The original as well as prints are now listed in the shop.

You probably recognize this painting.

I did it a few months ago, and I decided to paint over the girl sitting under the tree.

I decided I didn't like her there after all, so I turned her into a tree.

This one is called "The Trees Offer Hope"
It came to me, right as I was about to fall asleep one night.
I sketched it into my little sketchbook I keep by the bed.
I wanted a mostly dark painting, with a big block of sunlight, shining on the tree.

I'm hoping this weekend will be just as productive.
