I stayed up late tonight talking about the after life.. what happens to us when we die. I heard something that scared me a little.. The thought that when we die we will no longer be ourselves… we will be different. I didn’t like the thought of no longer being me. I’m not saying that I am my physical self, I’m not my body. But I think part of my soul is my personality.. and I can’t imagine being anybody but myself.
I hope that when I die, I still get to be me.
I don't like that either. However, I don't see why you would be anything but you.
ReplyDeleteI took an Anthropology class once called Myth, Magic and Folk Religion - it was great. I learned a lot. And gained a much better tolerance and appreciation for others. There are a lot of beautiful belief systems out there.
I love that quote by C.S. Lewis. So much..power, and clarity in it.
ReplyDeleteI believe in an afterlife. Only the concept of 'forever' is hard for me to comprehend at times.
I think we will be ourselves in the afterlife, just like I believe we all had our personalities before this life. I believe that part of our personalities and who we are is there when we are born, even before we begin to learn and grow, and I believe it will remain with us after we are gone from this earth.
ReplyDeletei love this quote, and i agree. :)
ReplyDeletelove this post! :)
ReplyDeletei believe we carry our souls in every lifetime. that's why people dearest to us always feel so familiar because in a way or another we cross paths with them.
Did you make this? I want something like it!
