My New Assistant and New Paintings

I got myself an assistant. I've just been so busy lately, I had no choice.
It's okay though because he works for catnip.
He helps me pick out brushes, and he even tests my paintings for me.
"Yep, feels like fall."
 "Yep, feels like a beach"
He is a good painting tester... neither of these photos were staged.
Sometimes though... he watches me paint, and he sees the brush move..
then he pounces.
That's when he gets a pay deduction.

I finished two paintings this week.
One was for my mother for Mother's Day.
I'm so late, I know.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Last October  I lived in North Carolina. (Oh, how I miss it!) My mom, dad and little brother came to visit. One of those days we drove down to Myrtle Beach. On the way my mom was turned around, facing me in the back seat to teach me to knit. I would watch over her shoulder as she undid my attempt and fixed my dropped stitches. We both got a bit car sick, but I learned, and I'm so thankful to her for teaching me how to knit. It has really changed my life. Myrtle Beach reminds me of my mom and all the fun we had on that trip.

I received an email a few weeks ago for a custom painting.
Oh I was excited.
I just love any excuse to paint.
She is based off of another painting of mine with a few changes in her looks,
shorter hair, green eyes and hat and darling heart plugs.
I feel so honored whenever I paint a custom piece.
I always have a lot of fun too.
Thank You Nickk!

  12. We normally stay in one place for about 4-6 months, but it's always a surprise. The longest we have lived in once place was 8 months and the shortest is one month. It's pretty fun to live in so many places!
